泳げるドックラン

We named it "the Yatsugatake River Land." It is about 4,950u which located in a private property within the mountain valley. We are sure that you will get unaware of time by watching dog's running and swimming in a river in deep mountain. There’s no neighbor nearby, so you and your dogs free to swash, bark or shout. The person who let your dog swim in the sea or river has already known that some peoples don't like dogs in the area with them. Have you been said "let the dog go somewhere otherwise fish goes somewhere" by fishing peoples?

We, people, have swimming pools or beach for our own but dogs always get pushed in the corner. You really think that dogs want to swim freely, don't they?
Now, you could find dog-runs anywhere. However, there's few place have swimming place with it. If any, each is really small like a tub just only to soak. Under this circumstance, don't think that the true swimming dogrun never exist.

The dream had come true! We have opened "the Yatsugatake River Land" since July, 2004.
Worth to visit! Just sit there watching dog's swimming. Forget your time and enjoy the clear stream in great outdoor!

By Akihiko Kawamata, the Yatsugatake Dog Farm
In my books, there are a couple of pictures of dogs in swimming. Those are taken at nearby rivers or ponds when I let them swim. The readers viewed those asked me where and let their dogs to swim at there. I told them where on request. However, I have been worried that if so many people take their dogs obviously at there time to time, there is the possibility the property owner might say not to use the property. My concern became an agony day by day.

Thinking that every owner has same feeling, I have come to realize that we need to establish the private place where dogs can swim freely. It was 4 years ago when I started to find the place seriously. However, it seemed improbable to find the right one.

There are place called "a hidden rice field." This hidden means "nobody knows" because it located in deep mountain area. There are few possibilities there is a river wide and deep enough to swim in the area. In addition, if we find it, we have to persuade the land owners to use. It was a really tough situation.

When we almost gave up, we finally found the place. I have to say that God makes it possible indeed.

he entrance of the place was narrow, shaped like a sand clock neck. Once you get in, there are small mounds right and left, rice field in the middle and the river Chikuma in front surrounded by mountain view. You could see cars running far away on the other side of the river, that's all. On the further up stream, there is no house, no road, no human beings, at all. Only the river runs through.
As I standing at there, I thought "this is it" and felt like being a dream world. Ok, finding the place is not the end.
Now my next goal is to let as many as dogs visit the place and have fun at there. Hoping that they think it's really wonderful to be there.

Please remember, it's not the Never Land or the Summer Land.
It's the Yatsugatake River Land!
